Suddenly when running VMWARE Workstation 11 on Windows 10, the VM’s would not start, when trying to start them they each give “internal error”. Looking in service manager, I found that the “VMWARE Workstation Server”-service was stopped, and could not start, giving the following error in event log:
Event id: 7024
“VMware Workstation Server
%%4294967295”
The fix was to delete this file in “c:\programdata\vmware\hostd”
